Fine needles create tiny, controlled punctures that prompt the skin to produce collagen. It is used for acne scars, wrinkles and pigmentation, with little downtime.
Microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy, uses very fine needles to create tiny, controlled channels in the skin. The skin responds by repairing itself — producing new collagen and elastin — which gradually improves texture and firmness.
It is particularly useful for depressed acne scars, enlarged pores, fine lines and uneven texture. It can be combined with PRP (platelet-rich plasma from your own blood) or serums to support healing.
A numbing cream is applied beforehand to keep you comfortable. The skin may look red, like mild sunburn, for a day or two. Results build over the following months, and a course of several sessions spaced a few weeks apart usually gives the best improvement.
